Calls to promote Spetchells Centre
Last updated at 10:01, Monday, 06 August 2012
PRUDHOE Community Partnership is to look at better promoting the services on offer in the town’s £1.6m Spetchells Centre on Front Street.
At the organisation’s recent annual general meeting, it was suggested that more could be done to encourage residents to visit the upstairs section of the building, which includes services such as Prudhoe Town Council and the partnership.
Chairman of the partnership, the Rev. Charles Hope, said a ‘what’s on’ screen would be put up behind the reception desk and further ideas would be considered.
County councillor for the Stocksfield division, Coun. Anne Dale, also suggested feedback on the library should be collected from users.
Town councillor Eileen Burt said a survey could be carried out after its first year of operation.
The three-storey Spetchells Centre opened in April.
Plans for the building, which replaces the old 1970s library, had been in the melting pot since around 2005.
