ELDERLY Tynedale residents have been transported back to a time of big hair, brick-sized mobile phones and shoulder pads to celebrate their care home’s 25th birthday.
To mark the event, staff at the Wellburn House residential home in Ovingham staged a 1980s-themed party. Staff, residents and their families were all invited to dress up in outfits from the decade, while local singer Shelly Mack, belted out well-known 80s tunes.
Manager Janice Turner said: “Wellburn was the first home opened by Wellburn Care Homes in 1987, so we wanted to do something memorable to mark the occasion.”
