RESIDENTS in Ponteland were left in the dark yesterday morning after a major power cut struck the North-East.
The power cut, which affected nearly 7,000 households across the region, was caused by a high voltage underground cable fault.
Electricity supplies came to a halt at 5.07am and were restored in Ponteland three hours later.
A spokesman from the region’s electricity providers, NEDL, apologised to all customers affected.
